My guest today is Recho Omondi, host and creator of The Cutting Room Floor. You might have been following Recho’s podcast - on which she mostly interviews fashion industry insiders and icons - since its inception in 2018. Or you may have heard of Recho more recently, after a clip from her January 2024 interview with Yasiin Bey aka Mos Def went very, very viral.
Either way, Recho is a thinker and interviewer to have on your radar: not just because she’s one of the sharpest, most astute podcast hosts out there right now in my opinion, but because her entire approach to the business of content creation is worth taking notes on.
We spoke about the art of the interview, the warped metrics of visibility, and why Recho only argues with people if they’re paying her (amen!) among many other topics.
